Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of BankStatementX ("the Service"), operated at bankstatementx.com. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

BankStatementX converts PDF bank statements and similar financial documents into structured formats such as Excel (XLSX) and CSV. The Service is provided on a freemium basis: a limited free tier and paid subscription plans with higher usage limits and additional features, as described on our pricing page.

3. Accounts

You may sign in using Google or an email magic link. You are responsible for maintaining the security of the email account you use to sign in and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will only upload documents that:

  • you own or are legally authorized to process;
  • do not infringe the rights of any third party;
  • do not contain malware or malicious content.

You must not attempt to disrupt the Service, circumvent usage limits, reverse-engineer the conversion engine, resell the Service without authorization, or use it for any unlawful purpose, including the falsification of financial documents.

5. Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents you upload and the converted output. We claim no ownership of your content. You grant us a limited, temporary license to process your documents solely to provide the conversion service. Uploaded files are processed in memory and deleted immediately after conversion, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period. Page quotas reset on the first of each month and unused quota does not roll over. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

7. Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for high accuracy, automated extraction may contain errors, particularly with low-quality scans or unusual statement layouts. You are responsible for verifying converted data before relying on it for accounting, tax, legal, or other purposes. The Service does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your documents), is owned by BankStatementX and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our written permission.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY ACCURATE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BANKSTATEMENTX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7, 9, and 10) will survive.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice on the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
